Our Photo Plates

These plates are standard Fender size – 2” x 2.5” – made of black anodized aluminum, making them much lighter than the traditional steel plates.

THE PROCESS:
Your design is engraved into the anodized coating, providing an excellent range of gray tones that are visible under any lighting conditions. These plates stand up well to normal handling, rubbing, and environmental conditions. If they get dirty, clean with a mild liquid detergent. Do not apply any protective sealants.

IDEAL DESIGN FEATURES:
These plates will provide a wide range of gray tones, making them ideal for any type of design features including:

Text: Any style, font sizes 10 and up. Thicker styles will look better than thinner styles. Text that we insert into the design will look better than if you send us an image that includes text.

Graphics: Most graphic designs that have strong features. Very fine lines and subtle features may not show up. White ends up a very light gray, so any design with a lot of white in the background will look a bit dingy. Designs that are black-on-white would look better if we invert and engrave white-on-black

Photographs: A good quality image is required – results are directly related to the photo. Send us high resolution originals, if available, and we will crop as needed. Best results will come from photographs that have a range of colors and good contrast. Very dark or very light images should be avoided.

Features that won’t work well: Very fine lines. Subtle shading and highlighting. Large white areas.
