Glass is an excellent choice for laser engraving when you're looking for an etched result. We've tested various grades of glass and achieve very good results. For the highest quality results, consider crystal - it's more expensive, but more stunning too. The process of laser engraving glass is one of "chipping". The laser cuts very tiny chips out of the glass, leaving a slightly frosted image. Glass provides a very limited range of shading and a good level of detail (better with crystal). Typically, glass is engraved on the back surface, leaving the front surface smooth. Dark images on the graphic design turn the glass white when engraved, so final proofs will look like photographic negatives.
